A Bremen man was arrested on Tuesday, June 25th on charges of stalking.
On the evening of June 25th, at approximately 10:40, Plymouth Police were requested in the area of Plymouth High School for reports of a man following a female. Officers were quickly in the area and witnesses pointed out the suspect as he was driving away.
A traffic stop was initiated at Baker and Fairbanks Streets and the driver was identified as Hector DeLeon-Colon, 27 of Bremen.
The victim and witnesses reported to police that DeLeon-Colon followed and circled the immediate area where the female victim was for approximately 30 minutes. Witnesses reported that when they confronted DeLeon-Colon, he made threats, placing them in fear.
Hector DeLeon-Colon was very disorderly during the officer’s investigation. He was taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail for felony stalking, misdemeanor intimidation and disorderly conduct.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
