A Marshall County Sheriff’s Department officer requested that the county’s K-9 respond to Plymouth / LaPorte Trail and Rose Road just before midnight on Friday for a suspicious person in a vehicle.
The suspicious person was identified as Joseph Cummins, 43, of Lincoln Highway in Bourbon.
Marshall County’s K-9 Diesel conducted an open-air sniff around the vehicle and alerted to the presence of narcotic odors inside the vehicle. A search was conducted with suspected methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia located inside the vehicle.
Cummins was taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail. He was booked in for possession of methamphetamine as a Level 6 felony, possession of marijuana with a prior conviction as a class A misdemeanor, and possession of paraphernalia as a Class C misdemeanor.
Cummins was held on a $10,000 cash bond.
The Plymouth Police Department assisted the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department.
