Representatives from Studio Axis reported to the Vigo County Capital Improvement Board Wednesday concerning the renovation of the Indiana Theater.
The report said that the building has been scanned in 3D and the inside and outside have been analyzed. The report said, "With the right improvements, renovations and restoration, the Indiana Theatre can be a beautiful, vibrant, fully functional venue that once again serves the community and enriches lives." Commissioner Chris Switzer says the theater’s marquee sign will be coming down within a few weeks and be given to the Vigo County History Center. The new sign will be nearly identical in size and still have the iconic INDIANA marquee. The upgraded sign will have an LED message board, which will be utilized to advertise shows, downtown events and much more.
