The Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety have several interesting items on Monday evening’s 6 p.m. agenda.
Building Commissioner Dennis Manuwal will present the board with an Unsafe Building Waiver request from The Pointe Apartments. The apartments have violated the city’s request to secure the facility causing a hefty fine. They were also told to have the required improvements completed near the end of this month.
Police Chief John Weir will again request to purchase a Detective’s vehicle and open the second round of quotes for six patrol vehicles. Two weeks ago, quotes were opened and during the meeting, Oliver Ford said they could acquire gasoline-powered Police Explorers instead of the hybrids quoted. The quotes were denied and the chief requested new quotes for gas Explorers.
The Street Superintendent will request disposal of a dump truck and under Other Business a discussion on Police Uniform Credit Police is listed.
The City Council meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. and it will consider an amendment to the 2025 Salary Ordinance, consider the Electric Vehicle Charging Station Host Site Agreement with MACOG, and approve the Uniform Conflict of Interest Statement for City Councilman Randy Longanecker.
Also on the agenda is acceptance of donations for the Mayor’s Summer of Music concert series, cancellation of Outstanding Unpaid Warrants, and a resolution declaring certain real estate to be within an Economic Revitalization Area for All Points Tool & Manufacturing.
The City Council will hear a presentation and request of $50,000 in financial assistance from Viki Brown, Ex. Director of Dustin’s Place. Marshall County Hope will also ask the City Council to pledge their Restricted Opioid Funds to help the non-profit help those struggling with addictions.
The City Attorney will also update the Council on ONE Marshall County and the Comprehensive Plan.
The city meetings are open to the public and those attending should enter through the Garro Street door and move to the second floor. The meetings are also streamed live with Microsoft Teams.
