The Labor Day holiday weekend is approaching and some communities in the Giant FM WAKO listening area are hosting multi-day celebrations. The annual Bicknell Heritage Labor Day Festival got underway Wednesday evening with the crowning of Malli Lyons as queen. She was selected from among seven contestants and will reign over the remainder of the festival, which continues on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday in the Knox County Indiana city. Also named as part of the festival kickoff were Bicknell Man of the Year-Junior Mullns and the Bicknell Woman of the Year-Margaret Hart and the Grand Marshall for the 12 p.m. ET Monday Parade-Brian Patton. All three were honored for their efforts to make Bicknell a better place to live and work.
