An Indianapolis man is in police custody after committing an armed robbery in New Palestine.
On June 16, just after 10:00 p.m., New Palestine officers responded to the Speedway on West US 52 regarding a robbery that had just occurred. Officers attempted to locate the subject on foot, but the individual had fled in a getaway car.
Over the next 48 hours, officers investigated the incident in an effort to identify and locate the suspect. With the use of multiple investigative tools, including FLOCK cameras, video surveillance, and tips from the community, officers were able to identify, and locate the suspect.
Steven Dillard Jr., 26, was taken into custody without incident in Greenwood by New Palestine officers.
