A Jasper County, Illinois woman has died after being involved in a two-vehicle collision Sunday in rural Effingham County.
Illinois State Police report that they responded to the scene of the mishap around 8:30 a.m. (CST) near the east edge of Dieterich. A pickup being driven by 39-year-old Nathan Roley of Dieterich crossed the centerline and collided with a van whose driver was 63-year-old Jacqueline Adams of Wheeler.
Adams was pronounced dead at the scene while Roley was life flighted to an area trauma center for treatment. The roadway had to be shut down for several hours while the accident was being investigated and reopened about four hours later.
