Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill & Bar locations owned and operated by Flynn Group, the largest franchisee in the Applebee’s system, announced the kickoff of its annual fundraiser supporting Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF), a nonprofit organization dedicated to funding pediatric cancer research and family support programs.
Since the partnership began in 2005, Flynn Applebee’s restaurants have raised more than $6 million for ALSF and pediatric cancer research, funding over 120,000 hours of research to help scientists find more cures for children with cancer.
Now through Aug. 31, Applebee’s restaurants will transform into lemonade stands as part of a six-week campaign to raise funds in the fight against childhood cancer.
At participating Flynn Applebee’s locations, 50 cents from each new ALSF Strawberry Lemon Sunshine, 25 cents from every regular-sized lemonade and flavored lemonade and 10 cents from each Backyard Blackberry Lemonade will be donated to ALSF.
Guests can also contribute in-restaurant via Ziosk with digital donations in increments of $1, $5, $10 or $20. Online donations can be made through the “Digital Lemon” category on the ALSF menu at Applebees.com or the Applebee’s mobile app, or by selecting the “Donate Now” button during gift card purchases.
Additional support can be shown through the purchase of $1 and $5 paper lemons in-restaurant, and with each $5 paper lemon, guests will receive a bounce back voucher for $5 off their next in-restaurant purchase of $25 or more, valid from Sept. 1 through Nov. 30.
Participating locations in the Indiana area include Shelbyville, Anderson, Avon, Bloomington, Brownsburg, Camby, Carmel, Crawfordsville, Columbus, Edinburgh, Fishers, Frankfort, Franklin, Greenfield, Greenwood, Indianapolis, Kokomo, Lafayette, Logansport, Lawrence, Marion, Muncie, New Castle, Noblesville, Plainfield, Speedway and West Lafayette.
“We’re honored to continue our long-standing partnership with Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation and to support the vital work being done to fight childhood cancer,” said Greg Flynn, Chairman, and Chief Executive Officer of Flynn Group. “Each year, we’re inspired by the generosity of our guests and the dedication of our team. Together, we’re making a meaningful impact and hope to raise even more funds this year to help bring hope and healing to families affected by pediatric cancer.”
