The Shelbyville Boys Basketball Team and the Shelbyville High School Athletic Department will be hosting a 20th anniversary recognition event honoring the 2005-06 regular season undefeated Golden Bears basketball team in conjunction with the Shelbyville season opening night basketball contest versus Rushville on Wednesday at Garrett Gymnasium.
There will be a reception for team members and their families in the Shelbyville High School cafeteria beginning at 6 p.m. The 2005-06 Golden Bears will be recognized at halftime of the varsity game.
The 2005-06 Shelbyville team completed an undefeated regular season with a 21-0 record, reeled off a 23-game winning streak and claimed Hoosier Heritage Conference and Shelby Shootout Tournament championships. The team posted the state’s second-best record for the season at 23-1 and finished fourth and fifth in the final Coaches and AP polls, respectively.
Shelbyville hosts Rushville in the season opener Wednesday at 6 p.m.
