February is Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month.
Blue River Career Programs offers multiple educational options to students in Shelby County. Here is a look at one of its programs.
The Auto Collision CTE high school class gives students hands-on experience with the skills and knowledge needed to repair and refinish vehicles after accidents.
In this course, students learn how to assess vehicle damage, use industry-standard tools and equipment, and perform tasks such as body repair, sanding, painting, and detailing while following safety procedures.

The class also introduces students to automotive technology, problem-solving, and teamwork, helping them understand real-world workplace expectations.
By combining classroom instruction with practical shop work, Auto Collision CTE prepares students for entry-level jobs, apprenticeships, or further education in the automotive repair and collision industry.
