Warsaw dampens Plymouth Homecoming with Friday NLC win

Warsaw gained a measure of revenge for last season's football loss to Plymouth by knocking off the Rockies on Homecoming Friday.

The Plymouth 42-14 loss left Mishawaka as the only team in Northern Lakes Conference play.

Warsaw (4-2, 3-1 NLC) took a 21-0 lead into the halftime locker room before Plymouth scored for the first time in the second half to pull within 14, 21-7.

"I was proud of the way we fought back and made it a game in the second half. We had some early mistakes that got us down early. We will get those fixed and get back after it this week against Northwood," said Plymouth head coach Adam Handley.

Rockies quarterback Ben Shiveley was 8-of-16 passing for just 75 yards and was intercepted twice.

Finn Holm rushed for 88 yards on 22 carries and scored both Plymouth touchdowns.

Plymouth (3-3, 3-1 NLC) falls into a three-way tie for second in the conference with Concord and Warsaw.

Mishawaka (5-1, 4-0) is alone atop the conference after a 35-20 win over Northridge.
