Waldron’s experience showed Saturday night during the 8-man football season opener against Morristown.
The Mohawks, major proponents in pushing the IHSAA to recognize 8-man football, raced out to a 36-0 lead by halftime and prevailed 50-0 over a Morristown squad making its 8-man debut at the high school level.
Troy Atwood and Hunter Dodson combined to rush for 202 yards and three touchdowns. Dodson also completed 5 of 10 pass attempts for 84 yards and three touchdowns – all to Tad Crosby.
Atwood also led the defensive effort for Waldron with 9.5 tackles and 2.5 quarterback sacks.
The Mohawks return to action Saturday at home at 7 p.m. against Rock Creek Academy.
