The Toronto Maple Leafs defeated the Boston Bruins 2-1 in Game 6 on Thursday to force Game 7 in their first-round series.
William Nylander scored twice and Joseph Woll made 22 saves to help the Maple Leafs stay alive in the series. After falling behind 3-1 in the series, Toronto has now won two straight – including Tuesday’s 2-1 overtime victory in Game 5 – to force Game 7 on Saturday in Boston.
The winner of Leafs-Bruins matchup will take on the Florida Panthers in the second round. The Panthers defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning 4-1 in their series.
