For the fourth year in a row, Shelbyville softball will have a representative in the Softball Coaches Association of Indiana’s North-South All-Star Game.
Cheyenne Eads has been announced as one of 42 players selected to play in the June 22 all-star doubleheader at Indiana University in Bloomington. She follows the selections of Addisenn Weaver in 2021, Karissa Hamilton in 2022 and Kylee Edwards in 2023.
The University of Indianapolis commit finished 14-9 in the pitcher’s circle this season for the Golden Bears (15-11) with a 1.66 earned run average and 225 strikeouts. She is the first Shelbyville pitcher to eclipse 500 and 600 career strikeouts.
Eads also finished with Shelbyville’s top batting average (.457), hits (37), doubles (10), home runs (6, tied with Addie Stieneker) and runs scored (27).
The Softball Coaches Association of Indiana (SCAI) also released its Class A/2A and Class 3A/4A All-State teams and Eads was named First Team All-State in Class 3A/4A.
Joining Eads on the South roster for the North-South All-Star Game are Tri-West’s Audrey Lowry, Avon’s Hannah Sutton, Noblesville’s Gabby Fowler, Beech Grove’s Malone Moore, Owen Valley’s Taylor Monroe, Clay City’s Alexis Thompson, South Vermillion’s Kenley Minor, New Palestine’s Allie Blum, Center Grove’s Hannah Haberstroh and Riley Janda, Pendleton Heights’ Katelin Goodwin, Union County’s Annalea Adams, Eastern Hancock’s Brooklyn Willis, Floyd Central’s Peyton Drummond, Jeffersonville’s Brookelyn Miles, Gibson Southern’s Callie Dickerson, Scottsburg’s Morgan Pool, Tecumseh’s Jenna Donohoo and Taylor Ash, and Sullivan’s Taylor Ash.
With the announcement of the All-Star rosters, SCAI also announced the five finalists for the Miss Softball Award. They are Hobart’s Keirys Click (Illinois commit), South Bend St. Joseph’s Riley Zache (Oklahoma commit), Tri-West’s Audrey Lowry (Oklahoma commit), New Palestine’s Allie Blum (Kentucky commit) and Tecumseh’s Jenna Donohoo (Evansville commit).
Miss Softball will be named on June 22 in between the all-star game doubleheader.
