Shelbyville High School Athletic Director Jenny DeMuth Hensley has been named to the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame 2026 Women’s Silver Anniversary Team.
Eighteen women were named to the Silver Anniversary Team based on outstanding accomplishments as basketball players throughout their careers in high school, college and, in some cases, professionally.
The Silver Anniversary Team recognizes players from the graduating class of 2001. The 2026 Silver Anniversary Team includes 11 players who were named to the 2001 Indiana All-Star squad. Seven other All-State caliber players are included to recognize the top of Indiana’s high school class of 2001.

Jenny DeMuth Hensley averaged 22.7 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 5.3 steals as a senior in leading Highland to a 26-1 season that included a Hall of Fame Classic championship as well as Lake Athletic Conference, sectional and regional titles for coach Chris Huppenthal.
For her career, DeMuth Hensley totaled a school-record 1,832 points, 780 rebounds, 279 assists and 383 steals in 92 games for teams that went 82-11 with three conference crowns plus two sectionals and two regionals.
A 2001 Indiana All-Star and runner-up for Miss Basketball, DeMuth Hensley was selected three-time AP All-State, two-time ICGSA First Team All-State, two-time Northwest Indiana Times Player of the Year, four-time NWI Times First Team All-Area, 2001 Post-Tribune Player of the Year, four-time Post-Tribune All-Area, three-time conference Player of the Year, four-time First Team All-Conference and three-time team MVP.
She also was a 2000 Junior All Star, MVP of the Hall of Fame Classic in December of 2000, and played in the 2001 Northwest Indiana East/West All-Star Game and 2001 North/South Indiana All-Star Classic.

DeMuth Hensley went on to Indiana University where she totaled 1,542 points, 763 rebounds, 219 assists and 230 steals in 121 games over four seasons for teams that went 61-60 and played in the 2002 NCAA Tournament and the 2006 Women’s NIT.
She is 14th in IU career scoring as well as second in career free throws (514), fourth in career steals and 10th in career rebounds. She also is second and eighth for season free throws (187 as junior, 150 as senior), ninth for season steals (72 as a junior) and posted 17 career double-doubles.
DeMuth Hensley was voted Second Team All-Big Ten in 2004 and 2006, twice was named Big Ten Player of the Week and was selected all-tournament at three regular-season events. She also played on the Big Ten All-Stars in 2004 and was an IU team captain in 2006.
DeMuth Hensley is now in her 10th year as athletic director at Shelbyville. She and her husband, Andy, have one child – Hayes.

The 2026 women’s Silver Anniversary Team members, the 2026 women’s Center Circle Officials Award honorees and the 2026 women’s induction class will be honored at the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame’s 24th Women’s Awards Banquet on April 25.
