Rochester took its first lead with a run in the top of the first and recaptured the lead at 2-1 with a pair of runs in the top of the third. CMA answered with a tying run in the bottom half of the inning and then took the lead back at 3-2 with a run in the fourth. After the Zebras again tied the game with a single run in the top of the fifth CMA responded with two in the bottom of the inning for a 5-4 advantage.
Rochester plated a single run in the top of the seventh to forge a 5-5 tie. CMA pushed across the winning run in the bottom of the eighth.
The Zebra offense was lead by Carson Paulik, who had two hits, including a triple, and two RBI. Parker Casper and Brant Beck each had a hit, and Beck added an RBI.
Carson Paulik pitched five innings and had a no decision. Paulik allowed five runs, four earned and 11 hits while striking out six and walking three. Tanner Reinartz pitched the final 2 1/3 innings and took the loss. He allowed the eighth inning run on two hits while striking out four in the relief outing.
The Zebras travel to Delphi on Monday.
