Waldron’s motion offense is improving while its zone defense stifled Southwestern Friday in a Mid-Hoosier Conference game at Southwestern.
The Mohawks led 23-2 after one quarter and 39-5 at halftime.
Eli Stewart topped Waldron (9-7, 2-2 MHC) with 15 points. Lucas Shaw finished with 14 and Parker Douglas added 11.
The Mohawks hit seven three-pointers and 7 of 11 free throws to get the win.
Ben Kahler led the Spartans (4-10, 1-2 MHC) with eight points.
Waldron won the junior varsity game, 58-55.
Luke Myers scored a game-high 22 points to lead the Mohawks.
James Oliver had 19 points for Southwestern.
The Spartans will attempt to end a three-game losing streak tonight at home against Indianapolis Herron (2-16).
Waldron is hosting Oldenburg Academy (8-6) tonight.

Indianapolis Scecina 53, Triton Central 50
At Indianapolis Scecina, the host Crusaders built a 16-6 lead after the first quarter then held off Triton Central’s comeback attempt.
Jaylin Foster led Scecina (5-11, 1-3 Indiana Crossroads Conference) with 20 points.
Max Crouse hit a 3-pointer with 20 seconds left to get the Tigers within two points at 50-48 and Eli Sego missed a long 3 at the buzzer.
Crouse finished with 17 points. Sego had a game-high 23.
Triton Central dropped to 10-6 (1-1 ICC) and will host Eastern Hancock (7-6) tonight in Fairland.
Edinburgh 69, Morristown 56
At Edinburgh, the host Lancers pinned a third-straight loss on the Yellow Jackets.
Edinburgh improved to 8-9 overall and 3-2 in the MHC standings.
Morristown dropped to 7-9 (0-4 MHC).
The Yellow Jackets return to action Thursday at home against South Decatur (4-11, 0-3 MHC).
