Plymouth got ahead of a struggling Goshen football team with two first quarter touchdowns and never looked back in a Week 4 Northern Lakes Conference 31-3 win.
Goshen’s only score was a third quarter field goal as the Rockies snapped a three-game losing streak in the series.
Exzander Ramirez rushed for over 100 yards. The quarterback struggled in the passing game with a 4-for-13 effort for 60 yards. However, he rushed for 104 on 20 carries and had a touchdown through the air and on the ground.
Finn Holm returned to the lineup after missing a game with a concussion. He topped the Rockies rushing chart with 130 yards on 21 carries and scored twice.
“The goal was to score first and get the momentum on our side and then just continue to run the ball. It was super awesome to see our defense play really well back to back weeks. We will need to continue that this week against Wawasee,” said Rockies head coach Adam Handley.
Brady Coffin’s ten tackles led that defensive category in the NLC win.
Plymouth (2-2, 1-1 NLC) will host Wawasee next week.
Goshen (0-4, 0-2 NLC) has been outscored 198-27 through the first four weeks of the season. The Redhawks will host Mishawaka in Week 5.
