The Plymouth boys tennis team traveled to Nappanee Tuesday to take on the NorthWood Panthers on their Senior Night, falling in a highly competitive team match, 5-0.
Plymouth is now 2-7, 0-3 NLC.
Singles:
1. Nolan Tompos (N) beat Liam Hanyzewski 7-5, 5-7, 6-2
2. Jack Johnson (N) beat Jonah Rich 7-5, 6-0
3. Aiden McEnderfer (N) beat Caleb Edmiston 6-4, 6-4

2. Aiden Boggs-Cody Bryan (N) beat Benson Prater-Landon Tyler 6-1, 6-2
The Panthers took both doubles matches in straight sets. Despite some first set leads, the Pilgrim 1D duo of Nick Manzuk and Owen Walleske lost a tight match to a solid NorthWood 1D team.
All three Pilgrim singles players, 1S LIam Hanyzewski, 2S Jonah Rich, and 3S Caleb Edmiston fell in tightly contested first sets. Rich and Edmiston both lost their matches in straight sets, while Hanyzewski pulled out his second set 7-5 to extend his match to a third set before falling in his final set 6-2.
“It was a very close match tonight, certainly a match that could have gone either way. We played some good points and games and did some nice things once again, but just couldn’t string enough points together at key times to take some of those
close sets and matches. Winning a few of those first sets would have been huge towards the final outcome. Hopefully we will continue to learn from these experiences and continue to show improvement in handling these pressure situations in the future," said head coach Brad Haeck.
