PHS wins big three-way match SYRACUSE - The Plymouth boys golf team traveled to the South Shore Golf Course in Syracuse Thursday evening for a showdown with Wawasee and NorthWood. The The Pilgrims picked up two big wins improving to 4-0 in the NLC and 14-2 overall. Bryce Carmichael, Chapman Yoder and Owen Yoder all fired 38s to pace the team. Chapman rebounded from an opening double bogey carding two birdies. Carmichael had the flat stick working quite efficiently needing only one putt on six of nine greens. Owen Yoder parred seven of nine holes during his new career-best round. Bennett Christy rounded out the scoring with a 47. The JV split their match, falling to Wawasee and defeating NorthWood. Junior Tristen Moyer led the team with a 45, sophomore Kyle Johnson had 46, freshmen Eli Schramm (49) and Devante Garcia (57) completed the scoring. The highlight of the round was Schramm’s birdie on the 240-yd, par 3, No. 8 hole. Next on the docket for the Pilgrim varsity is the CMA Invitational today and will be contested at Pretty Lake for the first time since the mid-1990s. The JV travels to Legacy Hills in LaPorte for the Westville Invitational.
