Miss Salukis pull county upset in regional

There were two first round upsets in the Class 8-3A Regional 16 volleyball tournament Saturday at Teutopolis.

The 6th seeded Red Hill Miss Salukis came from behind and beat the 3rd seeded Parkview Lady Braves.

They won 18-25, 27-25, 25-23 in the Lawrence County battle.

The Miss Salukis now advance to the semi-finals Tuesday and will meet Shelbyville Moulton at 6 p.m.

Shelbyville Moulton won 25-1, 25-11 over Toledo (Cumberland) in opening round play Saturday.

Robinson (Nuttall) will meet top seed Newton (Jasper County) in the opening semi-final Tuesday at 5 p.m.

They upset 4th seeded and host Teutopolis 25-16, 25-19 in the opening round also Saturday.
