Both of the Parkview Braves basketball teams won their opening games Saturday in the 2024 Little Eastern Illinois Conference (LEIC) Boys tournament at Casey. The 7th grade won handily over Oblong-Palestine-Hutsonville 49-9 with Paxton Gher scoring 13 points and Knox Pritchard 10 in the win. They will now advance on to the semi-finals Monday evening at 6 p.m. against Newton at Casey High School. The 8th grade Braves were 44-36 winners over host Casey-Westfield Saturday with Liam Morey leading the scoring with 13 points while Peyton Jones and Pritchard each added 10. The 8th grade will play in the semi-finals Tuesday versus Paris also at Casey High School.
