Kokomo boys head basketball coach John Peckinpaugh has resigned.
Reports indicate that Peckinpaugh has also stepped down from his position as assistant athletic director.
Peckinpaugh was 85-25 in four seasons as the Wildkats head coach. This past season, Kokomo was among the highest scoring teams in the state while posting a record of 17-8. They were knocked out of the postseason by Harrison (West Lafayette) in the sectional championship game.
Under Peckinpaugh, the Wildkats won 24 games before losing the 2023 4A state championship game to Ben Davis. The following year, the Wildkats won 25 games before losing to eventual 4A state champ Fishers in the regional.
Peckinpaugh was chosen to coach to Indiana All-Stars in June 2024.
