Kankakee Bishop McNamara used a stifling defense to beat the Lawrenceville Football Indians 21-0 in the 2024 season and home opener Saturday at Ed Loeb Field in Lawrenceville. Julius May of the visiting Irish returned a punt 47 yards for a touchdown in the first half and quarterback Gavin Antons threw for 2 TDS in the second half to cement the win. The Tribe could only muster 27 yards in total offense in the game-all on the ground with no yards passing. The 0-1 Indians will seek win number 1 Saturday when they travel to Bridgeport to meet the county rival Red Hill Salukis in the annual Oilfield Trophy game.
