Eggleston dominates Quarter Horse Trainer standings; Streakindownthebeach wins Quarter Horse of the Meet

What a year it’s been for the Tim Eggleston barn at Horseshoe Indianapolis.

In addition to finishing among the top five Thoroughbred trainers and earning more than $1.2 million in earnings, Eggleston also led the Quarter Horse trainer standings this season, earning 51 wins and numerous stakes titles heading into the final day of racing.

“We could not accomplish all of this without all the people in this winner’s circle,” said Eggleston, who was joined by members of his barn along with several owners and jockeys. “The owners are the ones that help get us to this point, and without the crew working as hard as they do day in, day out, we could never have this kind of success.”

A native of Michigan, Eggleston was on the rodeo circuit and rode bulls before turning his attention to Quarter Horse training. He and his wife, Keli, eventually relocated to Scottsburg, Ind., where they now have a farm and training center in addition to keeping horses at the track year-round.

Eggleston depends on Keli to keep the farm operations running along with their daughter, Aydin, who is also active in barrel racing.

Heading into the final racing program of the season Thursday, horses from the Eggleston barn had earned more than $1.5 million in the Quarter Horse ranks alone. Rock N the Beach also gave Eggleston his second Graded Stakes victory a month ago in the $359,400 Miss Roxie Little Futurity, the richest Quarter Horse race ever in the state of Indiana.

Other standouts along the way included Beach First, winner of the Blue River Derby, and Streakindownthebeach, a winner in five races and 2025 Quarter Horse of the Meet.

“He (Streakindownthebeach) just keeps getting better and better every year and had his best year to date this year at the age of five,” noted Eggleston, who is among the top five all-time leading Quarter Horse trainers in Indiana with 206 wins. “He has really raced well this season for Mr. (Buddy) Presley.”

Streakindownthebeach won his fifth race of the meet the night before closing day. An initial $26,750 yearling purchase from the QHRAI Speed Sale, the Habits Secret gelding now has nine career wins and more than $250,000 in earnings.

This year alone, he has won three stakes races for Presley and Eggleston, victorious in the Bob Woodard Memorial Classic, Air Born Leader, and Easys Night Beat Stakes.

Eduardo Diaz, who works for Eggleston and was honored as 2025 Quarter Horse Leading Jockey, was aboard for all five victories by Streakindownthebeach.
