Both the Lawrenceville Lady basketball Indians and the Red Hill Lady basketball Salukis picked up first round regional tournament wins at home Saturday.
The Lady Indians ran their record to 13-16 with a 69-46 victory over visiting Farina (South Central). They were led by Addeline Sanders and Reagan Ivers, each with 21 points, and Ava Cessna with 14. The win was the first in a regional for the Lady Indians since 2019 and their 13 wins are the most for a Lady Indian squad since 2019, also. They will play Woodlawn in the semifinals of the Class 1A regional Tuesday at Bluford (Webber) at 7:30 p.m.
The Lady Salukis are now 11-10 after a win over Louisville (North Clay) 44-34 in Bridgeport. They were paced by Riley Moore with 19 points and Caitlee Gray added 16.
Red Hill is back in action in the semifinals Monday night at Louisville (North Clay) against top seeded Brownstown at 6 p.m.
