Parke Heritage High School sophomore wrestler Rheese Benjamin is moving on to the state finals after coming in second at the regional tournament at Kokomo High School on Saturday, January 10.
Benjamin got a bye in the first round of the 115 lbs weight class, which automatically advanced her to the next round.
In the second round, she won against Serenity Howard of Rochester by pinning her in 1 minute and 22 seconds. She then pinned Rachel Ballard of Carroll Fort Wayne in the third round, which took her to the final match.
In the final, she was defeated by Macy Fordyce of West Lafayette, who has not lost a match yet, making Benjamin the regional runner-up.
