Mariyah Marshall and Mylee Boling each scored 11 points to lead Beech Grove to a 31-30 win Tuesday at William L. Garrett Gymnasium.
Shelbyville (3-2) got out to a strong start, leading 10-4 after one quarter and 18-13 at halftime. But without a made field goal in the third quarter, the Golden Bears fell behind 25-19 and never recovered.
Addy Marshall led the Golden Bears with 11 points. Jayla Ash finished with 10.
The Hornets (4-3) outscored Shelbyville 12-1 in the third quarter.
The two teams could meet again in the postseason as part of Class 3A, Sectional 28 which will be hosted by Indian Creek.
Shelbyville won the junior varsity game, 38-11.
Shelbyville returns to the court Tuesday at home against Columbus North (6-0).
