The #3 ranked Lawrenceville basketball Indians are winners of the 2026 Rotary Mid-Winter Classic game held Tuesday night in Bridgeport.
They rebounded from a loss Saturday at Benton to Goreville with a 58-35 win over their county rivals, the Red Hill Salukis in the annual affair. The 24-2 Indians broke open a 30-30 tie game late in the third quarter with an 11-0 run to take a 41-30 lead after the period and were never threatened after that.
The Tribe was led by Noah Wilson with 19 points, Jacek Mickiewicz with 14, and Zander Cessna with 13 while the 14-13 Salukis placed a single player in double digits-guard Ozzy Ash with 13 points.
The loss snapped a six-game winning streak for Red Hill, who returns to action Friday at Robinson while the Indians return home to Lawrenceville to resume Little Illini Conference (LIC) play Friday against #17 ranked Casey-Westfield.
