Virginia Doris Buchman, 93, of Culver

 Virginia Doris Buchman, 93, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 9, 2026 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Culver. Born on September 3, 1932 in Chicago, Ginny was the daughter of Arthur and Frances (McCue) Bouchard.

Ginny proudly graduated from the Loretto Academy in Chicago in 1950. On August 14, 1954, she was united in marriage with Jerry Buchman in Chicago. They would build a beautiful life together raising their children, Denise, Daniel, David, Douglas, and Donald.

Ginny’s life was woven with service to others. She dedicated almost 20 years as an Administrative Assistant to the President of Ingall’s Hospital in Harvey, IL. In 1995, they relocated to Culver where she would volunteer her time with St. Joseph Reginal Medical Center in Plymouth for over 10 years. She also volunteered with the Culver Town Council throughout the years.

Golfing in three different leagues each week, Ginny was an avid golfer who loved being out on the course. She also enjoyed playing cards, especially Bridge. Ginny lovingly crocheted gifts for her family and those she loved. Of all her favorite past times, spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the most treasured.

A dedicated member of St. Mary’s of the Lake, Ginny helped in various capacities over the years including the role of a lector and extraordinary minister.

Ginny leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter. Her bubbly and energetic personality will be sorely missed by those who knew her.

Ginny is survived by her daughter, Denise (Richard) Einecker; sons; Daniel (René) Buchman, David (Sharon) Buchman, Douglas (Jacqueline) Buchman, and Donald (Thao) Buchman; along with her grandchildren, Jason Buchman, Ashley (Mike) Esposito, Tyler (Andrea) Buchman, Kyle Buchman, Caitlin Buchman, Allyson (Cory) Craig, Brynn Einecker and Marisa Buchman and great-grandchildren, Samuel, Calvin, Edison, and Cora.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jerry; parents, Arthur and Frances; and brothers, Arthur “Jack” and William Bouchard.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2026 from 4-7PM at Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan Street, Plymouth, IN 46563. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM on Friday, February 13, 2026 at St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church, 124 College Ave, Culver, IN 46511 with Fr. Stephen Felicichia officiating.

Burial will take place at Washington Cemetery in Culver.
