PLYMOUTH- Violet Irene Wicks, 89, was ushered into the arms of her Savior on Sunday, August 9, 2026, at Signature Health Care in Bremen.
Violet was born on June 15, 1937, in Plymouth, Indiana, to Russell and Luella (Powers) Abair. She met the love of her life at the Roller Rink in LaPaz, and on June 20, 1954, she married Charles Wicks in Plymouth.
Violet loved God with all her heart, and her faith was evident in every aspect of her life. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished grandmother who leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, compassion, and perseverance. Violet was both compassionate and a fighter, always caring deeply for those around her.
She enjoyed attending Bible Study and spending time in God’s Word. She also loved being outdoors and spending time in nature, especially tending to her flower garden.
Violet is survived by her loving husband, Charles, of Plymouth; her children, Pam (Mike) Markley of Bremen, Romagene (David) Deuel of Clarkston, Steve (Karen) Wicks of Plymouth, and Paula (Dean) Korsmo of South Bend; grandchildren, Karry Kamp, Buffy (Steve) Kinasz, Brent (Sarah) Deuel, Brad (Tia) Deuel, Rachel (Seth) Keller, Phillip (Marci) Wicks, Jonathan Wicks, Timothy (Jessica) Wicks, Amanda Korsmo, Ashley Korsmo, and Alyssa Korsmo; 13 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Rosemary Harner, Harold Abair, and Gerald (Gerry) Abair.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Dorothy White and Frances Mentzel; brothers, Russell Abair Jr., Chet (Virginia) Abair, and Rob (Jean) Abair.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan Street, Plymouth, IN 46563. Funeral services will immediately follow, with Pastor Wyatt Smith officiating.
Burial will take place at New Oak Hill Cemetery in Plymouth.

Violet will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew and loved her. Her faith, love, and devotion to her family will remain a lasting part of the legacy she leaves behind.
