Robert (Bob) Lynn Geist Jr. ,74, of Plymouth

Robert (Bob) Lynn Geist Jr. ,74, of Plymouth Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, July 2, 2025.  He was surrounded by his daughter and family after an illness of pancreatitis and a battle of the mind with dementia.

He was born to the late Robert Geist Sr. and Betty (Jensen) Geist on July 5, 1950. He graduated from Plymouth High School in the class of 1968. He then went on for 6 years serving in the National Guard in Fort Lewis, Washington. Upon returning to Plymouth, he started his career working in auto mechanics, body work, and car sales up until retirement age. Bob loved cars and working on them. He was voted to have the best car already as a senior in high school. Bob also loved the town of Plymouth and everything in it, especially the Dairy Queen. Later in his life, Bob had special times with his family and 4 grandchildren. He was very proud of his home and sports cars and spent most of his time living and working there. Bob was also an avid follower of Christ and hardly missed going to church!

Bob is survived by his daughter: Mamie "Geist" Ameling (Jason) and his grandchildren: Amaya Ameling; Cole Ameling; Ty Ameling; and Shane Ameling from Plymouth,  IN (all 4 grandkids attended Jefferson Elementary just like their "Papa Bob”!); His sister, Anita Kucera (David Kordecki) and family of Austin Texas; his aunt, Sandy Geist and family of Plymouth, IN; and his stepson, Hal Browning of Milford, IN.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Geist Sr. and Betty Geist.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2025 from 1:00 p.m.  to 3:00 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Kristin Harp officiating. No burial service. Services will be held at Deaton-Clemens Van Gilder Funeral Home (300 W. Madison St. Plymouth, IN 46563)
