Ricky D. Rafferty, 74, of Shelbyville, passed away Monday, May 4, 2026 at his residence.
Born July 7, 1952 in Shelbyville, he was the son of Roscoe Rafferty and Emma Rafferty.
Survivors include a daughter Emma Sipes of Shelbyville; a son Richard Johnson (Judy) of Shelbyville; 3 sisters Carol Bryant (Steve) of Shelbyville, Darlene Wainscott (Phil) of Shelbyville, and Linda Gibbs of Shelbyville; several grandchildren, and several great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings- Randy Rafferty, William Rafferty, Donna Thompson, and Judy Robinson.
Mr. Rafferty had lived in this area for most of his lifetime and attended St. Paul High School. He had been employed as a treater operator at Culpepper Wood Preservers, retiring after 24 years of service.
He was a US Army veteran.
Ricky enjoyed golfing and visiting the casino.
Memorial services will be 5:00 pm on Wednesday, May 27, 2026 at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road.
Friends may call on Friday afternoon from 3:00 pm until the time of the service.
