Reverend Robert "Bob" Edwin Rice Jr., 76 of Argos, Indiana passed away July 20, 2025, at 3:51 p.m. at Parkview North Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, Indiana. On January 11, 1949, in Plymouth, Indiana Bob was born to Robert Edwin Rice Sr. and Marjorie Helen (Arick) Rice. He lived most of his life in Marshall County.
On November 3, 1968, he married Bonnie Elaine Winenger and together they shared the next 56 years.
Bob worked as a Sales Manager for Reese Equipment Company in Plymouth, Indiana for 35 years. His true calling started in 1986 when he began his journey in the ministry. From 1986-1987 he was the Associate Pastor at Walnut Church of the Brethren. He then moved to Milford, Indiana and pastored New Salem Church of the Brethren from 1988 to 2007. In 2007 he returned to Walnut Church of the Brethren and served the church until his retirement in 2018. Even upon retirement he could still be found on any given Sunday giving a message to his church family regularly.
Bob was a graduate of Argos High School with the class of 1967.
Bob is survived by his Wife – Bonnie Rice of Argos, Indiana; Son – William “Bill” Rice and wife Lisa of Pierceton, Indiana
Sisters – Sharon Zink of Orland, Indiana; Judy Kelly of Sebring, Floridia; Jane Kiefer and husband Chris of Sheridan, Indiana; Brothers – Larry Rice and wife Christie of Plymouth, Indiana; David Rice and wife Carol of Plymouth, Indiana; and Richard Rice and wife Danita of Argos, Indiana; Many Nieces and Nephews; and Sister-in-Law – Angela Rice of Plymouth, Indiana; Mary Becker of Argos, Indiana
He is preceded in death by his Parents, Brother – Dan Rice, and Brother-in-Laws – Mike Kelly, Harry Zink, and Jerry Becker
Friends may visit with the family on Friday July 25, 2025, from 3 p.m. – 7 p.m. at Walnut Church, 5975 19th Rd., Argos, Indiana.
Funeral Services will be Saturday July 26, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Walnut Church with Rev. David Williams. Burial will follow in the Walnut Church Cemetery, Argos, Indiana.
