Earl Stettler, 99, of Plymouth

Earl Stettler, 99, of Plymouth, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2025 in Pilgrim Manor Nursing Home of Plymouth, IN.

Earl was born on March 16, 1925 to Elmer Otis and Mary (Daughtery) Stetler in Plymouth, IN. He married Jannie K. Perry on June 17, 1946 and she preceded him in death on March 1, 2009. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He worked for NIPSCO until his retirement in 1977. He was a member of the Pretty Lake Trinity United Methodist Church, the Marshall County Sheriff Reserves, the Masonic Lodge #149, the South Bend Scottish Rite, and the American Legion of Bourbon, IN.

Earl is survived by his son, Norman (Valna) Stettler of Plymouth, IN; his daughter-in-law, Karen Stettler; his 11 grandchildren; his 10 great-grandchildren; and his 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Earl was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jannie Stettler; his son, Richard Stettler; his 3 sisters; and his 2 brothers.

 

A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Deaton-Clemens Van Gilder Funeral Home (300 W. Madison St., Plymouth, IN 46563).

A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Marybeth Scheibel officiating.

The burial will take place in New Oak Hill Cemetery (Plymouth, IN) with Military Honors.

 

Memorial contributions may be made in Earl’s honor to Pretty Lake Trinity United Methodist Church (8985 S State Rd 17, Plymouth, IN 46563).
