Debra Lynn Bolmer, age 69 of Bridgeport, passed away in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loved ones on Saturday, July 11, 2026.
Debra Lynn Bolmer, age 69 of Bridgeport, passed away in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loved ones on Saturday, July 11, 2026. She was born in Dante, VA on July 29, 1956 to Walter and Alma (Hale) Rynes.
On November 30, 1974 in Matteson, IL, Debra married the love of her life, John Bolmer. For almost 40 years, Debra and John raised their family, loved each other, and made many beautiful memories until he passed away November 6, 2014.
Debra loved her family and cherished any time she could spend with them. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, painting ceramics, and cooking when she had family with her. She devoted much of her time to being a homemaker but also worked outside of the home at the Empress Casino in Joliet, IL. Debra started as a Pit Boss at the casino and worked her way up to being the Marketing Manager.
Those remaining to carry on in her honor include: five children- Knox Bolmer and his partner Bill Kennedy of Bridgeport, Casey Burnett of Bridgeport, Kelly Forsythe and husband Matt of Lawrenceville, David Bolmer and Adam Bolmer both of Owensboro, KY; four grandchildren- Jessica Bolmer, Maxx Bolmer, Diesel Forsythe, and Jesse Forsythe; her great-grandchildren; three siblings- Walter “Bobby” Rynes and wife Sue, Kay Payne and husband Bob, and David Rynes; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by: parents- Walter and Alma Rynes; husband- John Bolmer; and one granddaughter- Aiyanah Forsythe.
A visitation will be held for Debra on Thursday, July 16, 2026 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Cunningham Funeral Home in Bridgeport. Graveside services will take place in Castlewood, VA. Service arrangements in Virginia will be released once scheduled.
