Cindy S. Hart, 65, passed away on Friday, February 13, 2026, at home. She was born on May 24, 1960, in Plymouth, Indiana, and was the daughter of Henry G. and Charlene M. (Slane) Lewis. In December of 1996, she married David Hart in Tennessee; he would precede her in death 1997.
Cindy dedicated her life to serving Rochester High School as a custodian, making sure nothing was left undone to help teachers and students succeed throughout their day. In fact, Cindy often put others before herself. Hardworking scratches the surface when someone mentions Cindy. A woman who didn’t shy away from chopping wood to garden her tomatoes, cabbage, and Egyptian onions. Camping at Potato Creek State Park is where she would often find happiness.
A woman who was genuinely grateful for everything that she had, and whatever life handed her, she always remained steadfast with a positive attitude and outlook on life. “Tough old bird,” personifies Cindy.
She is survived by her mother, Charlene of Argos; children: Chris Chamberlain of Argos; Jason (Stephanie) Lewis of Argos; Starlyn Chavez of Hood River, OR; grandchildren: Kane, Madelyn, Miles, Brady, Noah; siblings: Lindy (Ron) Snyder of Plymouth; and Randy (Dawn) Lewis of Argos.
Cindy is preceded in death by her father, Henry, and brother, Ricky Lewis.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
