Wythougan Valley Preservation Council, founded in 1999 as Marshall County's preservation-focused organization, will celebrate its silver anniversary on October 3 at Wild Rose Moon in downtown Plymouth. Wythougan, the name used by the Potowatomi for the Yellow River, organized to relocate and restore the Garn House on Plymouth's south side in 1999. Restoration of Summit Chapel School and Jacoby Church, as well as other activities, followed. A short reflection on the organization's preservation efforts over the last 25 years will be given, followed by a discussion on future preservation needs in Marshall County.

A photographic essay entitled "Spirit of the Place: A Walk-Through Indiana" will be provided by historian-photographer Kurt West Garner. The presentation will blend photography, architecture, and history from travels throughout Indiana. The event will begin at 6:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
