Woodlawn Hospital provides notice of a data event, email investigation

Woodlawn Hospital is providing notice of a data security event that may affect information related to certain individuals.

Woodlawn Hospital became aware of suspicious activity related to two employees’ email accounts. In response, Woodlawn Hospital promptly took steps to secure the accounts and investigate what happened. The investigation determined that certain emails may have been accessed and viewed without authorization. Woodlawn Hospital subsequently began conducting a comprehensive review of the impacted emails determined to be at risk to identify the type of information
at issue and to whom it relates.

While the investigation was not able to confirm the emails were actually viewed, Woodlaw Hospital is providing notice to potentially impacted individuals in the abundance of caution.
