A 23-year-old woman was arrested Monday afternoon after Marshall County Sheriff's deputies responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence in the 14000 block of 3rd Road.
Deputies were dispatched to the scene at approximately 2:42 p.m. on July 14th. While en route, officers were informed that the female, who lives at the Third Road residence, was involved in the dispute and had left the location. Deputies located and identified the woman as Abigail Tharp, 23.
Following an investigation, deputies determined that Tharp had battered a male at the residence. She was transported to the Marshall County Jail and booked on a charge of domestic battery. Her cash bond was set at $500.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
