Motorists in Plymouth should plan for a 30-day road closure beginning Monday, May 11th, as the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) launches a bridge improvement project on U.S. 30.
Starting at approximately 7:00 a.m. on Monday, May 11th, Western Avenue will be closed to all traffic beneath U.S. 30. The closure will affect Western Avenue between Skylane Drive to the south and Pilgrim Lane to the north. The road is expected to reopen by approximately 3:00 p.m. on June 12th, weather permitting.
The closure is necessary to allow crews to perform bridge beam straightening on the U.S. 30 bridge over Western Avenue. The project is being carried out by LaPorte Construction Company.
INDOT says it does not anticipate a significant impact on traffic along U.S. 30.
Drivers are advised to allow extra time and follow posted detour signs during the closure period. As with all road projects, the timeline is weather-dependent and could be subject to change.
