A Wanatah man is in the Marshall County Jail for theft after police received a report of a man entering rooms at the Red Rock Inn.
At about 11:45 Monday evening, October 6th, Plymouth Police were dispatched to 2550 North Michigan Street for a man who was reported to have entered multiple rooms, demanding drugs. The suspect was seen leaving the Red Rock Inn and driving across the street to the Economy Inn.
Plymouth Police quickly located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop at the Economy Inn. As the suspect tried to park the vehicle, he nearly struck a patrol vehicle.
The driver was identified as 27-year-old Landon DeWitt of Wanatah. The victims also identified him. As DeWitt was being taken into custody, he was suspected of being intoxicated.
One of the victims began to have a medical emergency as a result of DeWitt rushing into her motel room and was unconscious when Plymouth Police arrived. Plymouth Fire was requested and rendered aid to the victim.
As a result of the officer's investigation, DeWitt was lodged in the Marshall County Jail on preliminary charges of burglary, OWI-endangerment, OWI over .15%, and held on No Bond.
