A Walkerton woman was arrested for public intoxication on Wednesday evening after Marshall County Sheriff's deputies responded to a disturbance call in Tyner.

Marshall County Sheriff's deputies were dispatched to a residence in Tyner at approximately 6:55 p.m. on January 22, following a report of a woman attempting to gain access to a home.

When deputies arrived at the scene, they learned the woman had already left the area on foot and was not wearing appropriate clothing for the weather conditions. Witnesses also reported that the woman appeared to have been drinking.

Deputies located the woman a short time later and identified her as Alaina Baniewicz of Walkerton. Upon contact, deputies determined she was intoxicated, and she was arrested for public intoxication.

Baniewicz was transported to the Marshall County Jail, where she was processed and given a court date. Her bond was set at $250 cash.

Baniewicz faces one charge of public intoxication.

Note: All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
