Dave Crooks, President of DLC Media, Inc has announced he is going to retire and will sell all 6 of his radio stations to two different locally owned Indiana and Illinois broadcast companies. WAKO-AM 910 and WAKO 103.1 in Lawrenceville Ill. along with WAXI-FM 104.9 in Rockville Ind are being purchased by 3 Towers Broadcasting owned by Scott Huber and Johnny McCrory. That company owns radio stations and digital newspapers in Greencastle, Shelbyville, Plymouth and Rochester, Indiana. The application to transfer ownership of WAKO and WAXI was filed this past Friday with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). Crooks is also selling stations in West Terre Haute, Indiana and Brazil Indiana to JKO Media, parent company of WMMC Radio in Marshall. Ill. The FCC will have the final say on when the expected date of both sale transfers take place. It is anticipated that it could occur as soon as the beginning of May.
