United Way of Marshall County is seeking volunteers to help conduct the annual Point-in-Time Count, a nationwide effort to count people experiencing homelessness and better understand the housing needs in our community.

The official count will take place on Wednesday, January 28th, with additional informal counts conducted during the surrounding week to provide a comprehensive picture of homelessness in Marshall County.

The Point-in-Time (PIT) Count is an annual nationwide effort conducted in late January to count both sheltered and unsheltered individuals experiencing homelessness during a single 24-hour period.  The data collected helps communities understand homelessness trends and inform decisions about resource allocation and support services.

Volunteers are needed to conduct surveys and assist with the count. Organizations can also volunteer to serve as survey locations.  Those interested in volunteering or providing a survey location should contact Barb Holcomb, Point-in-Time Volunteer Coordinator, by email at barbholcomb51@gmail.com or Makayla DePoy in the United Way of Marshall County office at  mcdepoy@marshallcountyus.org
