The Vincennes City Council has moved to postpone a vote on a proposed business expansion tax abatement.
Meeting at City Hall Monday, members indicated that the information on a 5 year, graduated $2 million abatement being sought by the company Schott North America was received late, and many expressed the desire to have more time to study and review it before making a vote.
The firm is seeking to expand at its Vincennes facility with a third new production line and the abatement will aid in getting it set up.
A vote on the matter is now expected in two weeks on Monday, June 23rd at the next council session.
