Runners and walkers are asked to get their shoes on and turn out for the Over the River and Through the Woods Morning Fest and 5K event.
The event will be held Sept. 27 at Reeder Park, 465 N. Washington St., Montezuma and will begin at 9 a.m. It is the annual event of the Vermillion Trails Alliance.
"The 5K takes participants over the river and through the woods. It is a beautiful event. Registration is picking up, and we are excited," Becky Holbert, of the VTA, told The Parke County Post.
In addition to the 5K, there will be bounce houses, a foam party, music, farmer's market, food trucks and a school challenge.
"We would love for students to get out and participate in this. Also, if there are young entrepreneurs that would like to set up a booth and sell whatever, that would be wonderful," Holbert said.

"We would love for people to come out. This is a joint effort between the Vermillion Trails Alliance, the Parke Trails Alliance and the Montezuma Park Board. It is bringing the communities and counties of Parke and Vermillion together to experience the outdoors. The trail is the former B&O Railroad Trail, and there is a lot of history that we want people to experience," Holbert said.
