On Wednesday just before 11 p.m., Marshall County Deputies were dispatched to 12435 Thumper Trail in LaPaz for an unwanted guest.
During the investigation, a female identified as Chasity Morgan, 45, of Ossian, Indiana, was found to have a warrant for her arrest in Fulton County for failure to appear.
When county officers searched Morgan at the Marshall County Jail, prescription pills were located in her belongings, and she stated she had no prescription for them.
Chasity Morgan was booked into the county jail with a new charge of possession of a controlled substance along with the warrant. She is being held on a $500 cash bond.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
