Two Marshall County 911 Dispatchers earn National Excellence Recognition

Two Marshall County 911 dispatchers have received national recognition for their commitment to emergency services training and excellence.

Sheriff Matthew Hassel announced Wednesday that Katie Stanifer and Fred Berkeypile have earned Excellence in Dispatching certifications through the National Emergency Number Association (NENA), a prestigious achievement that recognizes their advanced training and dedication to serving the community.

The Excellence in Dispatching certification is awarded to dispatchers who complete at least three advanced dispatch courses within a two-year period, demonstrating a commitment to professional development beyond basic requirements.

"Receiving this recognition shows that our dispatchers are highly trained and will always strive to provide exceptional emergency services to the communities we serve," Sheriff Hassel said.

The national certification underscores the expertise that Marshall County residents can count on when they dial 911 for emergency assistance.

Sheriff Hassel emphasized that ongoing training remains a top priority for the department's 911 communication center.

"Training is a top priority for our 911 dispatchers, and we take great pride in recognizing these individuals for their hard work and dedication," he said.

Both Stanifer and Berkeypile received certificates from NENA and were presented with Marshall County Dispatch challenge coins in recognition of their achievement.
