State of the Schools Luncheon rescheduled for Oct. 28

The Fulton County Chamber of Commerce will host its 3rd Annual State of the Schools Luncheon on Wednesday, October 28, at the Rochester Learning Center, 1818 S. Park Road.

The annual event was originally scheduled for September 10. It provides business and community members with an opportunity to hear directly from area education leaders about the issues, changes and opportunities impacting local schools and students.

This year’s program will feature superintendents and high school principals representing Rochester Community School Corporation, Caston School Corporation and Culver Community Schools. Together, they will provide updates and perspectives on several timely topics affecting public education, including an overview of recent changes in education, graduation rates and new graduation requirements, changes to school accountability grades, and updates on student cell phone policies.

“As changes continue to take place in public education, we believe it is important for our business community and residents to have an opportunity to hear directly from the leaders of our local schools,” said Tiffany Lukens, Executive Director of the Fulton County Chamber of Commerce. “Our schools play such an important role in the future of our communities and workforce, and State of the Schools gives us an opportunity to better understand what they are experiencing and what lies ahead.”

If time allows, the program will conclude with a question-and-answer session, giving attendees an opportunity to engage with the participating superintendents and principals.
